Regarding the Fountain by Kate Klise

This story takes place in Dry Creek, formerly known as Spring creek. An uneventful little town with a creek that dried up thirty years ago.
There are a few main characters in this book. The first, Florence Waters,is my favorite character. She is both creative and imaginative. She travels around the world in search of new and exiting things to put in or on her exquisite fountains. The second character, Walter Russ, is the principal of Dry Creek middle school. He is strict and grumpy. He is also bald and plump with an impatient look. But, by the end of the book he is much more lighthearted. The last main character is the entire fifth grade class! Their names are,Lily,Shelly,Paddy,Tad,Gil,and Minnie. They are all talented in there own way and they all have big imaginations which really come in handy when Florence asks for ideas for their new fountain.
The plot of this story is about a middle school in Dry Creek that needs a new drinking fountain because the old one leaks. But what the citizens of Dry Creek don't know is that Sally Manders and Delbert "Dee" eel,(who own a swimming pool and water company)rerouted the spring in such a way that everyone in Dry Creek had to pay them to swim and drink water! They also built the school on the source of the spring, which is why the fountain leaks. But at the end of the book everyone in Dry Creek finds out that the spring  is really a geyser! So in the end, the town got their water back and the school got their magnificent fountain designed by the one and only, Florence Waters.
I really enjoyed this book and have read it many times. My favorite thing about this book is that it's written entirely in letters! It's a pretty easy read and I definitely recommend this book to any one looking for a funny, easy mystery novel.
